The Campus Store’s policy is to buy every college textbook that a student decides is no longer needed or wanted and for which there is a resale market. Each book brought to us during buyback will fall into one of three categories. The amount of money you receive for your book will depend on the book's current category.
Please review the information below for details:
RETAIL VALUE
These books will be used for the upcoming term. They are books CBU Faculty have requested for the upcoming term and we need to replenish our stock.
For books with retail value, we will pay you up to 50% of the current list price.
WHOLESALE VALUE
Books that fall into this category are books that have NOT been requested by CBU Faculty for the upcoming term or the Campus Store is overstocked with the book. These books are NOT purchased by the Campus Store, they are purchased by a wholesaler who will pay the wholesale market value.
For books with wholesale value, we will pay you between 0-33% of the retail price, depending on the national demand for the book.
NO VALUE
Books that fall into this category are books that have NOT been requested by CBU Faculty for the upcoming term, or are overstocked in the Campus Store, and do NOT have a current wholesale market value. Books that fall into this category tend to be older titles that have gone out of print, have been replaced by a newer edition, or are not commonly used on campuses across the nation (local titles).Neither the Campus Store nor the wholesale company need these titles and therefore cannot pay any money for them. We can donate or recycle these books at your request.
Please Note: Workbooks, study guides, "fill-in" type books, and books with excessive writing or damage make them unable to be bought back by the Campus Store. Additionally, the Campus Store does not accept instructor copies, international editions or access codes at buyback.
*2 textbook limit for copies of the same ISBN*
